Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 18, 2026
MathWorld AI is designed for children aged 4–13. We take children's privacy very seriously and are committed to protecting the personal information of young users and their families.
1. Who We Are
MathWorld AI ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile application developed by Mohit Bainsla. The app provides AI-powered math learning experiences for children. You can contact us at mohit.singh010491@gmail.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the app's features:
- Child's name and age group: Entered by a parent or guardian during profile setup, stored locally on your device only. This is never transmitted to our servers.
- Learning progress data: Quiz scores, stars earned, and topic history are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device.
- Voice recordings: If your child uses the voice input feature to ask Milo a question, the audio recording is temporarily sent to a third-party transcription service (OpenAI Whisper or Google Gemini) to convert speech to text. The recording is not stored after transcription.
- Device information: Basic device information (such as device type and operating system) may be collected automatically by third-party services integrated in the app (see below).
We do not collect:
- Email addresses or passwords from children
- Location data
- Photos or camera access
- Contacts or address book data
- Any personally identifiable information beyond what is listed above
3. How We Use Information
The information we collect is used solely to:
- Display a personalised learning experience for your child
- Track quiz scores and progress within the app
- Generate AI-powered hints, explanations, and encouragement via Milo
- Convert voice questions to text using third-party transcription services
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
MathWorld AI uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- OpenRouter / Anthropic Claude: Used for AI chat responses from Milo. Text messages are sent to their API. OpenRouter Privacy Policy
- Google Gemini API: Used as a fallback AI provider. Google Privacy Policy
- OpenAI (Whisper & GPT): Used for voice transcription and AI fallback. OpenAI Privacy Policy
- Google AdMob: Used to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve ads. We use non-personalised ads for users identified as children. Google Privacy Policy
- Expo / React Native: The app framework may collect anonymous crash and performance data. Expo Privacy Policy
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)
MathWorld AI is directed at children under the age of 13. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable children's privacy laws.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without verifiable parental consent.
- Profile data (name and age group) is stored only on the child's device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- We do not include social features, user-generated content sharing, or direct messaging between users.
- Advertisements shown in the app are configured as non-personalised for child users.
- Parents and guardians may delete all locally stored app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in device settings.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without consent, please contact us immediately at mohit.singh010491@gmail.com and we will promptly delete the information.
6. Data Storage & Security
All learning progress, scores, and profile data are stored locally on your device using React Native AsyncStorage. This data is not uploaded to any server. We do not operate any backend servers that store user data.
When your child asks Milo a question (typed or via voice), the question text is sent to third-party AI APIs over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Voice recordings are processed temporarily and are not stored by us after transcription.
7. Advertising
MathWorld AI displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. When displaying ads to users who may be children, we configure AdMob to serve non-personalised ads, which limits the use of personal data for ad targeting.
AdMob may still collect certain technical data such as device type and IP address for fraud prevention and basic ad serving. For more information, please review Google's Privacy Policy.
8. Parental Rights
As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:
- Review any personal information collected about your child
- Request deletion of your child's data (which is stored only on your device — uninstalling the app deletes all local data)
- Refuse further collection of your child's information by uninstalling the app
- Contact us with any privacy concerns at mohit.singh010491@gmail.com
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage parents to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
10. International Users
MathWorld AI is operated from India. If you are using the app from outside India, please be aware that your information may be processed in countries where privacy laws may differ from your own country.
